Director General Amy Pope Visits KVAC in Mongolia
Ulaanbaatar - On August 23, 2024, IOM Director General Amy Pope visited the Korean Visa Application Centre (KVAC) in Ulaanbaatar during her official visit to Mongolia.
IOM is operating the KVAC in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, authorized by the Government of Republic of Korea (ROK) as its partner in managing the administrative tasks related to visa application services for Mongolian nationals and residents. The KVAC is one of IOM flagship programmes in alignment with the IOM Strategic Plan 2024-2028, Pillar 3: Facilitating Pathways for Regular Migration. The KVAC exemplifies IOM's commitment to its Member States and to the migrants for integrity, transparency, and accountability in migration management.
After a brief tour of the KVAC office in Ulaanbaatar, the Director General had a townhall meeting with all staff in IOM Mongolia including the KVAC staffs. Staffs of IOM Mongolia shared their success stories and difficulties that they have experienced during the work with the Director General. The Director General showed her commitment to support the mission in Mongolia and gave advice and suggestions to IOM staff in Mongolia. The townhall meeting was moderated by the Programme Manager for the IOM Mongolia Country Office Daniel Sam and Team Leader of the Korean Visa Application Centre Ahryeong Oh.
