IOM Mongolia Organized a Basic Policy Study Validation Workshop on Mongolian Diaspora
Ulaanbaatar - On 28 May 2024, IOM Mongolia organized a validation workshop for basic policy study on Mongolian diaspora at the United Nations House, Ulaanbaatar.
Mr. Daniel Sam, IOM Mongolia Programme manager, gave an opening speech regarding the importance of diaspora engagement.
Ms. Munkhtuya.D, consultant at IOM Mongolia, presented the diaspora-oriented policy framework research results with suggestions and recommendations to relevant public and private institutions. The study analyzed the engagement of Mongolian diaspora in economic, social, and cultural aspects.
The study was conducted as a part of the project "Leveraging the potential of the diaspora for the development of Mongolia," launched in February 2023, to enhance the capacity of the Government of Mongolia on diaspora engagement in Mongolia.
Sixteen officials from various relevant institutions were present at the workshop and shared their comments and ideas on the conducted research.
